just a quick rant

I'm taking the GREs on Friday.  Needless to say, I don't feel entirely prepared--my studying was slightly interrupted by an intense two weeks (more on that later), and I'm still recovering.  It doesn't help that it feels so much like the SAT, plus a writing section.  All so pointless, and something that I did rather well on four years ago.  Unfortunately, it WAS four years ago, so my standardized test skills, SAT vocab, and math tricks are slightly rusty.
I'm also not sure why I'm taking them now.  Only 20-25% of entering MPP students come in without work experience.  I have some volunteer experience, but it doesn't quite feel like enough to get me though two more years.  Not enough to feel passionate and completely certain of this life path.  This is precisely why I'd like to do something like Teach for America first (and really, if I'm working as a recruiter for Teach for America, shouldn't I be seriously considering applying myself?).  I'd get relevant work experience and more time to figure out what I want to do.  Silly parents.

gre, teach for america, public policy, grad school, school
