Surprised? Only a little.
Funny how things work out in life. I was surfing through some profiles on Facebook of people I recognize from my childhood/teen years. One of the people that used to give me a more-than-hard time about being openly known as bisexual is currently in a same-sex marriage themselves. I guess that old axiom about homophobes rings true. I'm glad they sorted that part of their life out despite the memory of them slamming me in a locker and stating just loud enough for me to hear, "watch where you're going, faggot."
