How many books did you read this year?

I read 201 books. I was sitting at around 180 in mid December when I counted up, and thereafter made a concerted effort to get to the entirely meaningless round number milestone of 200. And then didn't realise I had and overshot.

180 of these books were by women, of whom 16 were writers of colour; 21 books by ( Read more... )

What a really excellent list.

We studied The Siege of Krishnapur for O Level. I remember nothing about it apart from the name.

I tried to read an autobiography by Dawn French and gave up half way through (something I almost never do). It was just - dull!

I think quite often comedians dont transfer well to the written word. Though I have wnjoyed Katy Brand's books recently .
