2010 in retro

Jan 19, 2011 12:14

A bit late here, but I figure I should post a year-end summary as I have in years past.

2010 was probably my most uneventful year in half a decade. After wrapping up visa hassles last year and ending frequent trips to Japan once Chiaki moved here at the end of '09, we settled into 2010 quite comfortably. We took a trip to Los Angeles in February, had a weekend boating trip to Bear Lake in August, and went to Osaka in December to end the year.

I was promoted from Coordinator to Supervisor in April, which was welcome. Chiaki worked most of the year as a waitress, and went (back) to school in the fall to study Chinese. We both have Master's aspirations but might still hold off on that for a while.

2012 might be the year we go back to Japan, so there could be some excitement soon. But for now, we are taking 2011 the same way we took 2010-- steadily, taking time to relax and enjoy the small things in life.
