I agree! M'gann really is adorable. (: I watched a number of episodes and it's a pretty good show. I like what they've done with it. It's not my favorite DC animated series (can't beat the Brave and the Bold, EVER), but I'm glad it's giving people a better feel of what the Teen Titans in the comics are like rather than the first animated series.
Brave and the Bold was amazing. Anything with Plastic Man and I'm sold though, haha! And I'm just kind of confused as to why they're calling it Young Justice when they have... Two? Young Justice members? I'm not knocking it, I just think it's amusing.
Correct me if I'm wrong, that's Madame Xanadu, right? (Sorry, never really read anything with her in it. I'm actually just guessing that it's her because she acted nothing like what I have seen her in.) Sorry about them messing up how she acted though!
Two of the kids from YJ? I don't even think they have that. XD Kid Flash is Wally and Robin is Dick. Kon is the only one that's the same. But yeah, I don't really care personally either. It's enjoyable how it is.
Good God, the Boostle & JLI episodes killed me. Brave and the Bold is the BEST. C8 Can't love it enough.
Yeah, it's Madame Xanadu. Her series is just phenomenal, and for whatever reason they just had a small scene to where she was just some random fake fortune teller. :( I was just upset forever. It was the one chance they could have shown off and promoted this AMAZING character & her series that's neglected and overlooked. :| Lol and ironically her series JUST ended. Haha yeah sorry, it's hardcore nerdragey, but it just really made me upset.
Well, especially Kid Flash! Because Impulse is the one in YJ, right? Ohhhhh, YJ Robin is Tim, isn't it? Never mind. So that's... One member. Brilliant.
Ugggghhh, the Boostle episode is saved on my computer and I just about cried watching it. Breaks my heart. (I also read Booster Gold: Blue and Gold the other day, and just about cried during that too. In the middle of a Barnes & Noble. Comic writers are bastards.)
Don't hate me, but I didn't even know she had a series. xD I'll have to see if I can find the issues somewhere. It's kind of weird that they would just throw her into an episode as a fake when the entire 'morale' was that you shouldn't always dismiss magic as fake. (And sorry, but I loved that episode. Klarion being in there made me so happy!)
Haha yeah exactly. The comic was Tim, Bart, and Kon. It does annoy me a little bit about how they think that people can't handle the idea of there being more than one Robin. baaaaah...
Oh my goodness yes. BOOSTLE, WHY SUCH A DEPRESSING STORY. Have you read the Countdown to Final Crisis where Ted dies? I've never cried so hard reading a comic. (Invinsible came close)
Haha no it's ok! It's not a very big title, obviously. It's actually through Vertigo. There are many cameos from the DC/Vertigo universe such as Phantom Stranger and Death. Madame Xanadu is Nimue of Arthurian legend, and the whole thing is like historical fiction. The writing and art for it are both just perfection. There. If I haven't convinced you already...!
.... WHY DON'T I HAVE XANADU ICONS. 0_0 *goes to fix this*
I have to say though, through personal experience, the multiple Robin thing is hard to explain to people. Especially that there's a difference between 'Teen Titan Robin' and 'The Robin who was in the Return of the Joker Batman Beyond Movie'. (And trying to explain Jason is like trying to get away with murder on tv. Which is depressing, since I really do love Jason.)
BOOSTLE LIVES IN A DEPRESSING CORNER OF THE DC UNIVERSE WHERE NO ONE IS HAPPY. Yes! I sat in my living room pretty much bawling. And just about had a relapse of that whenever I read the first Generation Lost and Batman told Booster Ted committed suicide. (Booster's really silly face kept me in check though.)
I definitely will have to check it out, just for the Arthurian legend aspect!
That's because people don't know that there's multiple Robins. Batman and Robin is such a huge pop culture icon that people don't realize that there's more than one (of even both now!), and if they actually have them in other forms of media instead of just hiding then people will understand eventually.
oh my god the Booster face after the suicide comment made me laugh so hard.
You should you should! I just downloaded the first issue in CBR so I can throw it at people. I can share for you to sample if you'd like.
I'm still waiting for the general public to realize that Bruce Wayne died! I know at this point it's just a technicality since his clone is back (last I read?), but it's honestly a very important event! I really do want more casual readers to find out that there is another Robin, and I appreciate that quite a few series use Tim and Dick, but I need some Jason love! There are more than two Robins, and it seems like he's left out all the time. (And he had one of the most tragic deaths (again, technically) in my opinion when he was just killed off on a fanpoll decision.)
Oh no I think Bruce is 100% back now for real, but yeah. If nothing else I'd really like to see a switch to Dick being Batman in media. I much prefer him as Batman over Bruce (personally). And I do agree! Jason is pretty important, but hey at least he got his own animated movie!
Sometimes I think the choice to have Dick not be Batman is a tribute to his character (as well as being a time saving throw in not having to explain how he got to be Batman) since he became Nightwing to get away from being associated with that legacy forever. [Though that characterization depends on what continuity you read..... God! Comics!] Instead he just gets to be Robin forever except when they have future episodes in Teen Titans where he gets to be Nightwing for a good 13 minutes.... xD Okay, so it's not a completely thought out theory, but it is one view of it. I do think it's mostly a time saver though. And I would like to see Dick as Batman at least once in a tv show or movie. Hahaha, this is true. I still feel that the entire movie doesn't compare to the combined screen time Tim and Dick have had in their careers though.
Things can be explained in a different fashion though, it doesn't have to be in the stupid way it was in the comics. I don't know, Dick has really embraced the role of Batman and he's been making it amazing. I mean yeah, Dick can try to separate him from the Bat family all he wants, but we all know that's never gonna happen. Batman as a character has been dried out for years, and a revival of the role has been refreshing. I love Bruce & the other Robins, but Dick and Damian as Batman and Robin has been fantastic. :P I guess they're maybe just too suited my tastes in comics; a little more on the lighthearted and funny side.
Well to be fair Tim definitely doesn't get the screen time he deserves for how long he was Robin.
If Dick and Damian got an animated series I would just crap my pants of happy.
He has been doing fantastic with it, agreed. I'm not huge on Damian yet, but I'm not putting him down either. I do like that Batman and Robin is still going on and they haven't just dissolved the entire partnership. I really think it's wonderful that they're making the 'Batman' a real symbol instead of attaching it to a person, it feels more real to that universe and the situation than not having the alias around because Bruce wasn't.
No doubt, he deserves lots and lots of screen time, haha!
xD That would be fantastic, but the collective non-reading population would be mindblown. "I thought his name was Bruce! That's who he was in those Batman movies!"
Haha I think that's why I love Brave and the Bold so much, they don't have a damn if they're confusing the audience, they just throw characters in there and just have fun.
Hahaha! This is very true. I know I've had to go and look up some of the characters/villians in an episode before. I do think that's fun though, I've been introduced to a lot more series when there are just random cameos all over the place.
Yeah it's pretty insane what random obscure characters they throw in there. And Jaime's practically a main character! How awesome is that!? And he's ridiculously adorable in that show.
Really? I have seen him in the show and he's as cute as a basket of kittens, but I didn't know he was almost a main character! I've only seen him in one episode! (Obviously, I watch it religiously. *cough* >_>)
Unfortunately I lost motivation to watch it....
