(no subject)
One of the more annoying things in life is obnoxious people. This species of people can manifest itself in many shapes and has evolved steadily in all types and levels of society. When this particular trait is coupled with other unpleasant characteristics the effect is, of course, double. Having spent a big chunk of today in the Penn library, I am convinced that I have come upon a particularly exasperating population of people.
Since when is it ok to talk on the telephone, loudly and for long periods of time, in the library?! And since when do people come to the library to make hotel reservations and gossip?! Not only do the majority of them live within a block of the library but there is also a cafe INSIDE the library where they can go to attend to these things. Next person who talks is getting a sharp-edged, hard cover thrown at them.
In other news, my second mid-life crisis is chugging along just fine. So far effects are minimal, but I suspect it is because I do not have time to attend to it.
Jodie Foster is going to be the speaker at my graduation this May.
