is this a joke?
a colleague of mine suggested to me that it is good to avoid getting the flu shot, as it is rigged to cause us to do excessive christmas shopping.
i asked, "are you serious?" and this colleague said, "yes, of course. i read it on the internet."
i figured this person was joking, so i said, "so what's the H1N1 vaccine? is it designed to get us to spend a lot at boxing day sales?" to which my colleague replied, "i'm not too sure yet. we'll have to see."
now, coming from anyone else these comments would be interpreted as a joke. but this person...this person might believe this. i cannot tell. it's freaking me out.
