Position: Webmaster
Location: Boston, MA & Westborough, MA
Responsibilities:
* Edit and create HTML/XHTML/DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, Flash, Photoshop files.
* Work closely with Marketing and Sales to promote events and news portal websites, special reports etc. by creating, adding, and updating and reviewing website content on a daily basis. (8 websites)
* Ability to meet deliverables and deadlines on a tight schedule.
* Skill in graphical and layout design of websites, emails, etc.
* Familiarity with Adobe web suite (Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, etc).
* Maintain web-based ad server for several websites and coordinate weekly reporting.
* Interface with YG IT to ensure all aspects of website are functioning properly.
* Develop online search engine optimization strategies and implement.
* Create podcasts from video or audio clips and implement RSS feeds (encode, compress and FTP video clips in various formats, etc.)
* Maintain leading edge knowledge of industry's best practices.
* Create polls, surveys, mailing lists and using online email blast technology.
* Schedule and post streaming video on a weekly basis.
* Maintain online content management system.
Qualifications:
* Proficiency in advanced HTML 4.01, XHMTL 1.1, CSS 2.0.
* Comprehension of video editing and video compression software.
* Expertise in MP3 software and the ability to create Podcast files.
* Ability to problem solve and seek out information.
* Minimum of 1 year of related experience in the above skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
* Strong written and oral communication skills.
* Ability to quickly learn and understand new technology and make recommendations.
* Familiarity with the World Wide Web, HTML, CSS, Flash, Photoshop.
* Education in Computer Science or Web design.
* Flexible, creative writing skills.
* Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings/weekends to meet changing deadlines.
* Ability to prioritize and pay attention to detail.
* Demonstrated technical competence with MS Office suite.
* JavaScript, RSS and AJAX experience are a plus.
* Knowledge of television production an asset.
