So in three days my Mom flies into town…happy happy joy joy. No, it’ll be nice, just my Mom’s a handful.
It was a busy and active weekend…Saturday was the Irish Christmas in America at the Lakewood Theatre. It was incredible. A band called Teada played and went through some Irish Christmas traditions, poetry and history.
Sunday was spent working on the master closet, and I learned how to “tape and bed” drywall. It was surprisingly easy and I was ridiculously proud of myself. Then it was off to dinner at G’s parents to celebrate her grandfather and my birthdays.
I so need some parenting advice. Micah is lying to me right and left, about stupid crap…I know some lying is to be expected, but he lied to me not three minutes after I gave him a spiel about how important it is to build some trust with us. Three freakin’ minutes. I have to figure out how to impress upon him that he just gets in worse trouble when he doesn’t tell the truth…
I was already grumpy as his mother, who I very nicely asked to bring a jacket to Cub Scouts tonight as Micah doesn’t have a heavy coat at our house, responded by very, very bitchily stating that I should buy him a coat for use when he is with us. She very conveniently forgot the last two years where I have bought coats for him and shared with her as it doesn’t make sense to buy a coat that he will wear every other weekend only.
And now, with the HUGE FUCKING LAWYER BILLS she has caused me with her pointless and endless vendetta, er lawsuit, I can’t afford a whole hell of a lot of luxuries, certainly not at Christmas when toys and fun stuff is called for. Also, she’s making it really difficult to forget about how much I loathe what she represents and how hard it is to switch gears after that and be a good father to my son.
Okay, end of whine. Back to work. Then it’s off to Cub Scouts in Crowley!
