I have decided I'm going back to using this journal the way I had originally intended.
1. Share my work, show the process and finished project.
2. Make MANY Crafty Friends!
3. Write about being a crocheter/crafter and my experiences creating, selling, etc.
4. Advertise in designated advertising journals.
5. Use this space as a reminder to have FUN with crocheting.
I became so obsessed with selling once I realized there was a slight demand, I forgot to enjoy myself.
After a long chat with my cousin/reality check I realized I my craftiness/artistic side was being money driven and inevitably smothered in frustration. Suddenly I wasn't have fun any more.
How did this happen?
Well, making a buck for doing something you adore can be addicting especially when you don't have a steady income.
I don't work a "real" job. There are several personal reasons for this and I'm not ashamed of a single one. However this is a "public" LJ so I wont be listing those afore mentioned personal reasons here.
Well I'm PSYCHED to say I am having fun with crochet again, at long last! I want to start spinning and dying my own fibers and see what kind of great yarns I can create!
I'd also like to take a pottery class eventually (when I have the money saved) and a lamp work bead making class (a good friend of mine has taken up bead making and creates some really amazing stuff. So I've caught the bug from her, I guess!)
I'm working on writing crochet patterns for sale and share which is new for me because I usually just free form. I look at a pattern to get an idea and then pull it together my own way.
There is so much I want to learn! My mind is constantly flowing with new crochet/craft ideas. I'm really lucky to be feeling so inspired right now!
If you are a crafty person please feel free to add me
You will see ads to my shop which I will try to LJ-CUT when I remember!
When time permits I will be deleting old entries and changing the look of this LJ.
I'm really looking forward to the NEW Sleepy Panda Crochet LJ!
w00t!
Behind the cut is a picture of one of my current projects. This was my second attempt at free forming a mini cupcake. I was quite proud of the results!
Cuteness!
Sorry for the poor pic quality. Camera phone ^_~
