"ain't there one damn song that can make me break down and cry???" --young americans

"gee my life's a funny thing, am I still too young?" --young americans, a song i love soooo much, especially right now

so i'm back from san diego, where i very well may be spending the next four years of my life, and let me just say how much i hate san diego (and by hate i do mean HATE. as in loathe, despise, and abominate. if i could blow up a place on this earth and leave a crater in its wake, i would choose san diego to obliterate.)

after saying that, i do have to admit that i like the actual ucsd campus, and the surrounding la jolla/pacific beach area is very nice (as in overly family-oriented and white-washed--there are FIVE hospitals in la jolla and guess where all the doctors, their trophy-wives, and their spoiled brat kids live?? RIGHT NEXT TO UCSD. the "university town center" is really a gathering place for rich families--there are no hole-in-the-wall coffee shops, great bookstores, or unique music stores. no, this is the land of constant BMWs, gorgeous looking, model-esque girls strutting their stuff in bikinis, and monotony. nothing original or college-town about it}. so...santa monica city is looking extremely appealing at this point, as is moving in with either evan and ator or becky. (suprisingly, my mother is on board with the idea of me moving out, even if it is with guys--can you say "!!"?)

i'm going back down to the hell-hole known as sd next weekend for the orientation weekend, where i will show my parents what i love--the library (i know, what a dork), the dorms, and pacific beach--and what i hate (everything else). who knows what will happen? at this exact second, i have to say that i'm 90% going to smc. i know, isn't it sad? sad and depressing. but i have to say that i'm content with that, and i don't even know why, because i would expect myself to be really depressed about it.

thanks again to everyone who was in san diego with me and dealt with my extreme mood-swings...you are the BEST (and by the best i mean i will love you all forever).

if i haven't seen you during this spring break, i am sad. probably i won't because i have this never-ending lit review to do (unless you're going to tara's 18th bday party, which i will be at). i hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing break, and i'll see you on monday.
