Remember when Bush stood in New Orleans and gave that lovely uplifting speech about how we were going to rebuild New Orleans and the Gulf Coast, how we were not going to let the city die? Yeah, remember that? Oh yeah and remember all the people who said New Orleans was in deep shit? Just like with Iraq, Bush made a lot of nice-sounding promises.

But what do all these promises really mean? The media, who did such a good job at hammering the Adminstration in the immediate aftermath of the storm, seems to have gone back to sleep. Why are we not holding the government accountable and demanding that it fulfill its promises to the people of the Gulf Coast? Why do we act as if its all OK and everything is back to normal?

We need to have Katrina back on the front pages of the papers again. Any idea how to make it happen?
