A Long Time
It's been a long time, a lot of books and a lot of sleep since I last posted in here... I thought no one would notice, but apparently I was wrong, lol. (Yes, you Imoh! :D)
I read the last couple of posts I made and rolled my eyes at the whole Man From Snowy River thing, I mean, really? Who was going to sit down and read through something that long? Not me, lol.
I also just about laughed myself sick at the 'on my last draft of my book'. Ignorance was bliss. I am now on my fifth draft. It might sound excessive, but trust me, the story, the plot and the characters are much better off.
Besides Mavis guiding me through the tricky world of editing stories, I actually found some very useful advise in the author site that Jenny Crusie shares with Bob Meyer. They recently brought out Don't Look Down in collaboration and it looks great (can't wait to get my hands on it). Their site is www.crusiemayer.com and if you click the link to their 'Dueling Blog' and go right back to the February entries, you will not only laugh yourself silly (The 'Bob and Jenny show' is hilarious) but there is also some very good writing advice.
