Oh, poo. I just went to my first clarinet lesson, and my teacher told me that I have to change how much of my mouthpiece I put in my mouth. IT'S LIKE PRACTICALLY CHANGING EVERYTHING. MY EMBOSHURE + MY ARTICULATION + MY BREATH-TAKING. It's ALMOST like relearning. Oh, well. Hopefully it'll pay off. and, no, I STILL don't know how to spell emboshure. sorry. I should go sleep, since I have to wake up early to shower and then go take the bus to buy music books, then come back to study forever for bio because bio is a big pile of crap to study. i hate bio. ladeedadeeda. O, and I also played HORRIBLY when my teacher was listening to me to see what I need to work on. I was using my bad reed (which i should REALLY THROW AWAY) without realizing it. I kept squeaking whenever I went over the break, and it was so flimsy that if I played with more air, it would squeak, so I just played kinda ugly. Then he told me that we have to work on my lack of focus in tone. man, that made me kind of sad. I know I suck at articulation, fingering technique, and sight-reading, but I never thought I had a bad tone. hm hopefully it was just the reed, cuz he said I had a really nice sound when I auditioned.
