LOL! Oh man. That lady was killing me!!! And I don't even know her! When confronted with people that lie that much I can only stand there, stare at them, smirk slightly, and wonder if anyone else is hearing the bullshit I'm hearing. I dunno, a lot of it seems like she has a complex dealing with how much she wants to stand out in the world. And I'm sure there is some truth, but I dunno...a lot of stuff comes from TV, news especially, too.
I don't think it makes you insensitive or anything. I've found myself not wanting to deal with certain people, like I would have when I was younger. When you just don't want to put up with bullshit because you don't need it in your life. I really think it's just a part of getting older: knowing you don't need to deal with everyone and telling them to open their eyes and get the picture or get a life (or fill in the blank for your situation).
And honestly as long as you're wearing shades of all the same color (or so my mom tells me) you look fine. It's funny she brought out the crayon box statement though. It's like she just has to get that last word in.
