As for the 'go-live' with the computer system...it didn't suck nearly as much as we were fearing! In fact, our woes the last 6 days stemmed from the sheer size of the work-load, and crisis situations that would have been adrenaline-boosters even using the old, familiar system (examples for me personally were having to process multiple spinal fluid specimens in a short time, and having to speedily prepare a box of blood units for a Life Flight that was transporting a critical patient to another hospital). But we had extra staff on hand, were able to perform everything we needed to do in the new system (it makes a LOT more sense than the old one), and we learned new tricks, and we helped each other. I work with a group of good people! But I am telling you, I have been exhausted each day. I have gotten more sleep all week than I have in MONTHS. Nothing much got done at home after work, that's for sure.
