And I cannot blame myself for this!
I gave my essays to my cousin Cheri this morning, I suppose to be home right now cleaning the house (daily chores suck) but I'm choosing to stay in school to finish my essays. Ugh, I'm starting to think that with the scholarships I'm applying for...will it be enough to cover the cost that the Art Institute offers? Hmm...so far I applied for TWO...and that will give me at least $7,000 altogether. :( Crap, I could've applied for this other scholarship , Mohawk Inc., scholarship, but I missed the deadline and I'm screwed. Oh well, I forgot about it anyway.
Thus, I still have to apply for FAFSA except parents haven't filed their income tax for 2004 yet. I know that they have made a hella lot more than 2003. Dad had worked for the tribe during the summer and I looked at one of his checks he got and it was a wooping two-thousand something! O_O Now I'm sitting here thinking, "Man, will I be able to get financial aid?" Well, I hate to brag, since I'm a minority and Native American, probably still could. But Tyson and I were talking about this yesterday at the Headstart building (putting in our hours for GEAR UP) and he was saying how much "this sucks that our parents make a lot of money" and blah, blah, blah. Something about pell grants and that there's a new law something about the lowering the cost of financial aid. I think it had to do with Bush too...but I'm not too sure on that. >_<;;
Well, shoot...I forgot what I was going to type...hmmm...
Oh yeah, one of our GEAR UP people (chaperone, whatever) Jinny told us that we could write a letter on how our parents are a threat to us from getting financial aid. We just kinda laughed and she said, "No, serious, you can do that." She told us that her friend had done that once.
To Whom It May Concern,
Hello, my name is Fallon Mail. I am an enrolled member to the Quinault Indian Nation and as a minority and a high school student, I am applying for financial aid. My parents' financial report pose as a threat in order for me to attain financial aid, therefore, if I don't get the money from the government for college, then I'm screwed.
kthxbye.
Sincerely,
Fallon J. Mail
Uh, yeah, I would write a letter to them since times like these call for desperate times with desperate measures. XD
Well, I better go check with Cheri to see if she found my essays yet, I hope.
Will post later.
