Fat chance of that.

Cole was awake and in the living room and looked up as she came in. "You're all wet!" he said, pointing out the obvious.

And oh look, here came Sam from the kitchen, the smell of freshly-baked cupcakes wafting after him, and a stern expression on his face that quickly turned into concern. "You've been out in the rain this whole time?" he blurted out.

Phoebe froze at the stairs and turned to give them both a game smile. "Hi. I... uhmm... it's raining?"

She shook her head. "Not exactly the whole time... just since it started when I was on the way back from the park?"

"Why didn't you call me to come get you?" Cole chided her. He disappeared momentarily into the laundry room and returned with a thick fluffy towel, which he wrapped around Phoebe's shoulders.

Sam sighed softly and ducked back into the kitchen for a moment, then crossed over to crouch in front of the fireplace and start a fire. Yes, he could have asked Cole to do it, but he liked this sort of thing.

"Let's get you over here to warm up. I'm heating up water for tea now," he said in the sort of tone that didn't invite argument.

Phoebe had told Lana the boys were going to fuss... and heaven help her, it made her go all soft inside when they did it.

"I was talking with Lana," she explained, letting Cole fuss with the towel. "We got to talking about my shop and her being my silent partner and happiness. I lost track of time and then the rain started."

"Did the rain short circuit your cellphone?" Cole scolded, making sure Phoebe obeyed Sam and moved in front of the fire.

Sam hadn't stopped at lighting the fire, and was in the middle of arranging a comfortable nest of blankets and pillows near the hearth. "You need to get out of those wet clothes," he said sternly. "Good thing there's fresh laundry. Phoebe, what are we gonna do with you, huh?"

"I didn't think it was going to rain so much between here and the park so I didn't take out the phone because I didn't think rain was an emergency," she said. In response to Anders' question, Phoebe gave them both an adorable look. "Love me?"

"You've got goosebumps," Cole said, rubbing Phoebe's arms. "Get out of those clothes and let us warm you up."

"Well, of course we do, you sopping wet goof," Sam said over the whistle of the teakettle in the kitchen. He patted the pillows, then dashed back into the kitchen, where the whistling noise abruptly faded away.

A minute or two later, he was back with a steaming pot of tea, a mug, and Phoebe's bathrobe, still warm from the dryer. "Wet clothes," Sam said again, holding out the robe and setting the teapot down on the coffee table. "Off. Now."

Phoebe nodded at the boys and handed Cole the towel as she started peeling off the wet skirt and blouse, shivering as she did so. When she was finally completely undressed, she reached for the robe.

Cole waited for Phoebe to get the robe wrapped around her, then pulled her down on the couch. He settled next to her, leaving plenty of room for Sam to join them on her opposite side, and put his arms around her. "You better not catch a cold," he said.

"Really," Sam said, lightly teasing, as he pulled the blankets up over them and snuggled close to Phoebe on the opposite side, "if you wanted us to fuss over you all you had to do was ask."

Phoebe wasn't going to deny that she loved it when they did this.

"I can't get a cold because then I can't go decide what building to set up the shop in."

She snuggled against the two of them.

"We'll just have to warm you up then," Cole said. "In whatever way we need to."
