Sam had been down in the kitchen putting the last of the dishes away, and come up just in time to hear Cole's statement. He leaned against the doorway of the attic, watching them with a smile.
"Shax... he tied to kill Piper and I on Saturday night... he killed Prue and when he came here Saturday... he almost killed us..." She shook her head. "We were too shocked to see him..." She looked from Anders to Cole. "The Power of Three is back..."
Cole knew about Shax's attack and subsequent vanquish, but he didn't know that the Power of Three had been restored. "That's great, sweetheart," he said, kissing the top of her head. "The Charmed Ones are back at full strength."
"Definitely good news," agreed Sam, whose knowledge of the subject wasn't as thorough as Cole's, but he knew enough to understand that this was good. "Saturday night, huh?" He tried to quell it, but a ripple of apprehension ran through him as certain coincidences of timing finally connected in his mind.
Hastily, he pulled his sleeve down over one of the worse scratches that he'd gotten from his fall into the roadside shrubbery.
"Paige is just a kid... and not sure we're not insane, but she's here and the Power of Three came back when she was with us." She looked at Anders. "What?"
Cole gave Sam a questioning look as well. He knew something had happened the other night, but with everything going on, he hadn't had a time to question him about it.
"You're freaking out," Phoebe said softly... a little sadly. "I'm sorry you felt us... me..." She couldn't even say the words. She was pretty sure that she and Piper had been dying and she was curious what had happened where they woke up feeling like a whitelighter had healed them. "What were you doing?"
"Maybe this spell bond isn't such a good idea after all," Cole said, fretting just a little. If they all ended up hurt because one of them was injured, that would be bad.
"I --" Sam sighed; maybe Cole had seen the damage to his bike, maybe he'd just made the connection, but either way there was no point in lying to him. "Yeah. I don't know if one caused the other; a car was coming at me, and I had to swerve."
