Oddly enough, she didn't have to call out to Cole to come snuggle. He could feel it. So a few moments later, he was standing in the doorway, leaning against the frame, watching her read.

Phoebe felt him watching her and looked up from the book -- which she had just read the same page for the third time.

"Hi," she said with a smile.

"Hi, sweetheart," Cole said, moving into the room. He flopped down on the bed next to her. "What are you reading?"

Phoebe smiled at him. "I... have no idea. I think it's supposed to be a romance novel..."

He snuggled up against her back. "What kind?" he asked. "Pirates, knights in shining armor, mysterious stranger, savage Indian?"

Phoebe snuggled back against him as she looked at the cover. "Mysterious stranger. He kidnaps her and blindfolds her and they have this amazingly passionate night and she finds out later that he's actually her betrothed..."

"Mmm," Cole said, nuzzling her neck. "Like the thought of that, do you?"

Phoebe made a soft, happy sound. "It might have gotten me a little... intrigued at the idea."

"I'll have to keep that in mind," Cole purred, rubbing Phoebe's shoulder.

Gods, that purr did so many things to her.

She smiled. "Oh... now that could be... wow..."

He nibbled on one earlobe. "Definitely wow," he agreed.

Phoebe shivered, he knew that she loved that. "You really would...?"

"Maybe," Cole drawled. "But when and where? That would be telling."

Phoebe turned her face so she could kiss him. "I love you."

"Love you, Bright One," Cole murmured.

Phoebe brought a hand up to stroke his face while they kissed. Since her mouth was a little too busy to talk, she made sure that she sent everything she was feeling along the bond between them.
