What a lovely night it turned out to be.... I had totally forgotten about dear Loocy turning up, and I was so pleased to see her sitting on the couch. She leapt up and gave me one of the nicest hugs I have had in quite a long time indeed (though James gives me lots of yummy hugs when I feel down). It was so good to see her again and chat about anything and everything, and of course, eat lots of yummy food =)
Halfway through chatting with her about Japan, the UK and other fabulous things, my phone started ringing listed as a private number. Unsure as to whom it might be I answered anyway, only to realise it was, you guessed it.... Xavier. I was kinda not expecting him to call me back, since I'm usually quite cynical when people promise to do things like that, but almost like clockwork he called me back, almost the same time as when I called him the night before. I was giggling on the inside, and getting cheeky grins from everyone on the couch, but I was too busy smiling myself to notice all that much.
We talked about mundane get to know you sorts of things, but I loved every second of it. It was good to just sit and chat, and just know that he actually wants to get to know me too, to just hang out with me, but of course my cynical side still tells me to keep my guard up and to make sure I don't get hurt.
You know what, though? I'm so glad I've thrown caution to the wind for the most part this time. It's really paid off, and I'm enjoying not feeling so nervous approaching this with Xavier. It's just been, well, nice, and I hope he's willing as I am.
It's all going pretty good in life. My housemates are great and supportive despite their own rough patches, I have a nice guy who's interested in me, my family up in Brisbane is going fantastic... I'm just so grateful to the universe, loving everything, and warm inside.
Later kidlets! xoxo
