take me to disneyland and i'll hold your hand
Adam and I took a way too expensive taxi to Disneyland for the first full day trip to the park since the new year. Even with my wallet cleaned out it was an exceptional day. Adam had a few Disneyland firsts, such as Mr. Toad and Alice in Wonderland. We also easily got on all the rides with the exception of Soarin' Over California and none of the essential rides were closed.
So around four we decided to get some ice cream at Gibson Girls, and then get some almond lattes at the bakery next. I suggest that we take our purchases to the Partners statue, one of my favorite Disneyland chill sites.
"Man, I don't want to walk all the way over there," complains Adam.
"It isn't like there's open seating over here," I say, and start to lead the way.
As we get closer to the statue I notice a uncharacteristically large crowd next it. Then I spot a familiar over-sized green hat.
"ALICE!" I squee, for if the Mad Hatter is about, his partner in mischief must be near. I take a seat near the crowd and attempt to power down the ice cream, when suddenly Alice darts past me, leaving the Hatter and the crowd rather confused. Turns out some cast members have set up games in the middle of Main Street and Alice wanted to play. After a few moments, the Hatter decides to join her. As he passes us, Adam asks him "How's it going?" to which the Hatter replies, "Well blue is certainly red!"
Unfortunately I couldn't get pictures because soon after I finished my ice cream the duo began backing into the castmember area and I didn't want to keep them away from the sweet salvation of the end of their shift.
Annah would be happy to know that the showstop of the parade occurred when Ursula's float was right in front of us. I wasn't so pleased because the Wonderland Brigade was right behind, and the float was a better door than a window. White Rabbit on skates FTW.
