to relieve the weight of my last entry...
... here's some lighthearted bits of info about my life so far:
- I am now a Gleek. Thank goodness I succumbed to peer pressure, because this show is IT. ♥
- Speaking of peer pressure, I now also have a Twitter (yes, I know I was ranting about the uselessness of that site, but the list of people I wanted to follow was too great so there). Follow me if you have one.
- I've recently (see: this past week) been getting more and more into updating Tumblr. Follow me there too.
- Head's up! I will be renaming this journal today, to hyungniiim.
I've long felt tired of katiedistance as a username, and I was looking frantically for a suitable replacement. After watching You're Beautiful with Amy and joking about Tae Kyung a lot, she started calling me hyung-nim (Korean for 'onii-sama'), in the trademark Go Mi Nam style with the elongated 'i' that sounds like 'ee'. I thought "ha! there's something I wouldn't mind being called for the next 5 years!"
Then I was talking to pandarosi on Twitter, and she said she's also renaming her journal and she's waiting for Valentine's Day to do it because it's also Chinese New Year and therefore it will have some kind of significance as a date. So we made a promise to rename together. w00t for new beginnings!
- Here's a picture of me doing the hyungniiiim/Hwang Tae Kyung face. It is currently my profile picture on Facebook. I look just like him, don't I?
- I have developed an unhealthy crush on Nishikido Ryo. I blame a dream I had in which he and I were together and he'd sing and play the guitar for me every night until I fell asleep. I woke up and I was in love. :P Wrote a short story based on that dream which I included in my coursework for my short story writing module. I want to edit it a bit, but I will be posting it someplace.
- I'm trying to capture all the loving looks Booth has given Brennan at the ends of all the episodes of Bones. It's a slow but fun process that makes me giddy. I read today the show's on a break till late March, and it made me all sadface :( Incidentally, Zack has all the amazing lines in season 1. HIGH FIVE FOR ZACK.
- sunleth posted a Marié Digby video and I had to look her up... Now listening to her Japanese cover album Second Home, and it's really good! :D That's kind of what Amy and I were talking about doing in the future, covering Japanese songs from Johnny's stuff to regular Jpop/rock. Digby's English stuff is really awesome too.
- Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge is making me a Kame fan. I like the way he looks, his acting gets better with every episode (he's probably getting a better feel for Kyohei's character as the series goes on), and... IDK, I'm starting to like him a lot :) Uchi doesn't annoy me as much as I thought he would, and that ballet dancer guy is awesome, especially on Tokyo Friends Park II :3 Oh and Kato Seishiro awakens some kind of mother instinct in me, SO CUTE SO CUTE SO CUTE.
- Code Blue is disappointing so far, season 1 was like a million times better. I think the staff had a collective meningitis or something and they've been dumbed down, otherwise IDEK what's over them. Everyone is out of character and the plot is predictable and badly orchestrated... Not to mention they're actually stealing lines/styles from House MD and Grey's Anatomy :( Not impressed.
- Bloody Monday is awesome. And that's all I have to say.
- Saw a bit of Angel Bank, loved Eiji Wentz. Might see more of it at some point.
- Saw some Tokujo Kabachi!! too, and while I'm not overly impressed by the drama itself (which feels more like a public education appeal over popular legal questions people might have in Japan) or by Sho (love him though, so very much), I was very pleasantly surprised by Maki. Tough-girl!Maki, at last! I've been longing to see her in a role that isn't all sweet and righteous, and it seems this is finally it. So I'm looking forward to more of that.
