Dec 22, 2008 10:08

I have sent a "boyfriend-girlfriend" forward email to a gay classmate I had in NMH in 2005... I only realised it much later and facepalm'd myself, couldn't email the guy since then for fear he thought I was stupid >__< And I really liked the guy too, I thought he was awesome and a great writer and I'd love for us to keep in touch, but even now as I ( Read more... )

Right, Mr. America. Let me tell you two things.
Regardless of how old you are (because I do respect people with more experience and such than me) you are mistaken. First of all, the "correct" way of spelling verbs ending in "-ize", if we're going to stick to the historical facts, is in fact with an 's', since it is the older way of spelling. American spelling was changed on purpose to differentiate itself from British spelling. Second, I have been educated at an American school for six years, and I've been studying language here, in the UK, for the past 3 months, and as such I am adapting to the British ways. I believe there's nothing wrong with it. Occasionally I do spell realise as realize, out of habit really rather than choice. Frankly, I don't care how I spell it. Both ways are correct. If you are too arrogant and proud American to at least accept that in some other part of the world people spell your words differently, then you are too narrow-minded and constricted and I don't even want to waste my time replying to you. I've had enough of naitonalists and your kind annoys me the most.

Hope your mind opens bit by bit in the new year.
Happy holidays.

mmm ... you misspelt "nationalists", haha. And the only correct way is the American way to spell "REALIZE", even if you do not care. ;)

And you can tell me more than two things, it is alright. LOLove.

By the way, MERRY CHRISTMAS :D
