Didn't watch Code Blue after all, even though we'd been planning to. Somehow while we were fangirling over Johnny's again (it's a daily occurence :P) we were checking stuff and people out on DramaWiki and stumbled across Bloody Monday.
WHY HADN'T I SEEN THIS BEFORE :O
It. Is. Amazing.
Let me repeat: AMAZING. Ten minutes into the first episode and we pause the thing to go "wooooooow that was awesome". And Miura Haruma? Good morning, handsome! His acting was great too, I was really pleasantly surprised to notice that he can actually act (because come on, Gokusen 3 does not count, and I haven't seen the Koizora movie yet so I really had no real specimen of his acting). But oh man, he can.
Random and unnecessary, but I typed "nut oh man" instead of "but oh man" in the above sentence without looking ¬_¬ Totally unintentional but perhaps subliminal, OTZ...
So, yeah. Bloody Monday. Super awesome.
The direction is fantastic, feels like watching Maou again (that kind of brilliant "OMG awesome shot" feeling), and Miura is excellent and the whole concept just doesn't feel like your average jdrama, it's much more serious and complicated and fascinating because it has an actual plot :) I really love this drama, already since I've only seen two episodes, but oohhhh it's so good.
What I loved best (besides the secret-Japanese-intelligence-agency-wants-YOU-to-help-them cliche and super intelligent Miura) is how real it feels. Miura is a total BOY, looking up the teacher's sexy legs, smiling when she compliments him, getting excited over things only boys get excited about, and then his reaction when he saw the body in episode two, SO REAL. Not like the "oh, it's a dead person" reaction you most often get in jdramas, this was a real "gasp! *shock*" and shaking because the sight is so frightful and odd to him. He feels like someone anyone can relate to, despite being super intelligent and super awesome and super handsome :) I totally, TOTALLY love that :D
Kinda wondering about Sato Takeru's role in it since he's only now starting to show up (middle-to-end of episode two), apparently they're really close friends which was totally not apparent in episode 1 (kinda fails, because if they're that close a glance or two would've been enough to show that they have some special kind of connection besides being classmates - unless they're even hiding their friendship, which is weird). Anyway, I hope that their boyish friendship doesn't ruin the seriousness of the whole thing, because there were a couple of moments that granted a more lighthearted feeling to a serious moment and I was a little icky at the time. I would understand it if they're like that together because that's what they'd really be like, but I would like the heavy, deep meaning to remain throughout the series.
Maah, we'll see. In any case, I like this a lot and will definitely finish it asap.
Well, asap is kinda a relative term right now, since I'm going home tomorrow.
HOME. TOMORROW. Yaaaaay :D
I don't know whether I'll have internet so I'm announcing a hiatus for three weeks, hoping that I will be able to snag internet every once in a while from somewhere, but probably not every day unfortunately. So whatever awesome things I'm doing, you probably won't know. :O
Am pretty much done with packing, will finish up now and get some sleep (I wonder if it's even worth it to sleep for two hours or so. Might watch a movie or two instead, lol). I'll be crawling from tiredness tomorrow, lol, but it's ok since I'll get to sleep at a normal time at night. Stayed up last night again watching a movie with Amy (HSJ's Yamada was in it, so cute!) so I'm really not sleepy at all ¬_¬ I know it's not right but ehh, what else is new :P
Greek people, I SEE YOU SOON EE :D
The rest of you, have a lovely time wherever you are, whatever you're doing, and hopefully I'll snag some internet just in time to wish you all happy Christmas :)
