We had an earthquake last night about half an hour past midnight, which measured 3.8 on the Richter scale. It was nothing scary, nothing shocking, just a shake which we all felt and that was it.

Am I weird to think it was awesome? O_o

Because according to my mother I am a terrible human being who laughs at the tragedy of others (because somewhere in ( Read more... )

You BARELY felt it?? You were lucky then, because a picture frame barely missed my head! It was indeed very short, but it felt MUCH bigger than it really was. I mean, at first we thought it was 6-6.5 or something!

Well I don't think there's something wrong with you, I mean I've reached a point of having experienced so many earthquakes, that it usually never bothers me. Wherever I step my foot at, there's an earthquake. I go to Crete -there's an earthquake. I go to Chalkidiki - there's an earthquake. I go to Komotini - there's an earthquake! (genikws pipen :-P) I don't even bother mentioning Thessaloniki, where earthquakes are as frequent as rain in England.

But this one really freaked me out because people started screaming and yelling and it's the first time stuff fell off shelves. :-S

Well I do live in Kalamaria. That's a long way from Lagkadas where it originated. My guess is you were closeby? I estimated it around 3.5 but then again like I said I live quite a few miles from there. It was on the surface though, that's why if felt so strong where you were.

And I can't say that we have that many earthquakes in Thessaloniki - I can recall only two of them and they go far back, 5 and 13 years ago respectively... And I've been here almost all my life (give or take a few months) :P

My first earthquake experience was when I was around 5 years old, and my mom and I were at the baker's across the street when it happened. I remember the baker lady trying to keep the shelves from falling ^^; I've never had a similar experience since then.

ps: LOL @ the drama queen icon... xD

LOL I live in Kalamaria as well, but I know it was not felt everywhere the same. For some strange reason my whole neighborhood felt it real good, perhaps it has to do with the ground...? *shrugs* I mean I know my best friend living 10 minutes away with the car did not feel it the way we did here ( ... )

LOL patrida? XD Kalamaria forevah ^^

Maybe it's up to the ground *shrug* I really felt it this time but it was like I sort of moved on the sofa (was watching TV at the time) and then it was over. Which is why I thought it was totally cool. XD

Last July... hmm, τώρα που το λες... I don't think it was that big though because I would totally remember... Then again my brain is weird. O_o

Hmm I think so yeah. [kinky date ooooh]

Haha that must have been awesome XD Hangover vs earthquake = σημειώσατε Χ! ^___^
