For 2009, I decided to do monthly goals instead of huge year goals. I never make the year goals. They just aren't broken up enough for me to get decent toe holds. I haven't established all 12 yet. In fact, I've only established a few. But, I'll go ahead and list them, and add the others on when I figure them out.
January -- cut out carbonation.
So far, I'm doing pretty good on this one. With Crystal Light making caffienated options, this is going much easier than it has in the past. Not to mention, the water retention factor from less sodium is making a difference!
February -- cut down refined sugar
I'm not really sure how this one is going to go. I'm trying to kind of make a few better decisions here in January to make this one a little easier. We'll see how it goes.
March -- cut down fat intake
I'll admit it. I eat way too much grease and way too many fatty foods. I've also really started noticing their effects on the way I feel, and I'm sick of it. So, that's March.
April -- buy a dress
Okay, this doesn't sound like that big of a deal, and this one is Definately not set in stone. Wes proposed over two years ago, and is really starting to get irritated at me about not being married yet. He understands that I wanted to be done with school, and was okay with postponing it until this year. Since I won't graduate until next year though, he's really starting to get antsy. There's a whole crap ton more to this, but IF I and we can overcome a few of these obstacles that are like a bowl of liquid nitrogen under my feet, I'm buying a dress in April.
May -- enjoy New Mexico
I'm going to New Mexico for two weeks as part of a class where we will be collecting data and photos of pictographs in a canyon from the Anasazi (sp) tribe about 2,000 years ago. I'm determined to enjoy myself.
I had thought at the end of last year that I might set weight goals for months, but I decided that was a bad idea. I don't go about things the right way when I'm looking at a number I have to beat. So, no I don't have very quantitative or qualitative phrased goals. Sure, I could say February's as Consume less than x grams of sugar per day. But no. I'll drive myself nuts. Cutting out the sweets will be quite enough.
So, here's to a new year,
