ithaca... was certainly an experience. i loved it, but i wish i'd had another week there, because as soon as we were all becoming close it was time to leave! i met a lot of wonderful, interesting, hilarious people, and i wrote a lot. what more could i ask for? my roommate and i got along really well and she was very cool, and the kids in my class were awesome. the food was sub-par, but the conversation made up for it. i sang a b&s song at the "coffeehouse" with sam, and i even escaped from a balcony one day! ... long story, but i felt like i was in the mod squad. i learned some interesting "life lessons," if you will, as well. a college environment allows for new and unexpected freedoms, and living in the same building as all of these other kids your age almost lulls you into a false sense of security... people ended up shocking me by turning out to be the exact opposite of what i'd expected, for better or for worse... but i did learn a lot about life and independence. interessante, non?
the family reunion at my grandfather's was relaxing, the irish side of my family rules... it was fun. the beach was gorgeous, we spent a lot of time catching random sea creatures for my littlest cousin and jumping off the dock. i have about five thousand mosquito bites on my body and a HUGE bruise across my thigh from being whacked with a kayak paddle, though... ouch.
anyway, i missed everyone at home, and i've simply run out of things to write for today. -fin-
