Subject: Rapist loose in Candler Park - Candler Park Golf Course
7/26/05
We had a rape - at the Golf Course Saturday night/ Sunday morning 23rd & 24th... from 11:30pm - 2:30 am, a woman visiting from California.
She was jogging on Terrace Ave., with two other female friends who live on Harold Ave., the woman from California wanted to continue her workout... her 2 female friends left her alone to go back home...
A man who she passed on the sidewalk, grabbed her and started beating her into submission, and forcefully walked her into the golf course - he beat her savagely, raped her 4 times, beat her face in, knots on her head, broke her collar bone, sodomized her, etc., all over a period of 3 hours... she was able to get away, but in very bad shape.
He is on the loose... all the women in the neighborhood need to be aware... he has been seen viewing the women who jog on the bike trail path. Be aware if you jog there. He is believed to be a prior rapist, a Atlanta Police Officer has identified him, we have his name, and details, but he is not in custody yet. (At this time he is a likely suspect, his DNA has not been matched.)
He is obviously missing his upper left front tooth. Dark, 6' 1", 160-165 lbs, muscular, facial hair... composite below...
We have a full flier in the clubhouse... Detective Lisa Roey - Special Crimes Unit - Sex Crimes - lroey@atlantapd.org, case # 05 205 0484 is handling the case. Call 911 if you see this person, do not approach him. I am not aware if this story has been on the local news.
