It's never just good or bad
So I got the promotion. I'm now Assistant Store Manager. I've been given a great raise. I lost a friend. He apparently wasn't much of a friend (though in his mind he was flawless). Maybe he will be when he grows up, and learns to see beyond himself. I harbor hate for him now. I'm starting to like the feeling. My brother took a sleeping aide and went driving last night. He ran into some parked cars. He was arrested for a DUI. He's going to be sent home. I'm afraid for him. I feel I've failed him. He is handling it all like an adult. I'm proud of him. Things are never just good or bad.
