My first Half-Marathon!

Mar 18, 2008 12:20

Well runners, I completed my first half-marathon on Sunday, the Edinburgh Half-Marathon along the coast from Crammond to Musselburgh in 2:01:08.

I know I could've gone faster! Just makes me even more determined to run another one in a couple months. There is one in Dundee in June, then the great north run in September (I think) so there are others...I'm just so bummed I didn't break 2 hours!

General Ramblings-
It was a chilly day, and just before the race started at 9am, there was a rain shower. The start was fairly organised, the lines to go to the bathroom were massive! I think the field was about 3,500 people.

My dad used to run loads, and he kept saying I should start slow. Too slow is my response. I have never run a race like this before, lesson learned. It was a nice course, flat and scenic. It was great to see some of my friends at the end. The runners high is so addictive at the finish, can't wait to get it again.

I am really jealous of the guys now... they can pee wherever they want! I had to run till I got to a relay changeover spot and go then.

goals for the next race
-not pee during the race!!!
-break 2 hours
-have a good time!
