The first proof of Parmenides:
- Reality is either 1 or many.
- If reality is many, the many things must have differences.
- But there are only two ways things can differ:
- being: something
- non-being: nothing
- However, 2 or more beings can not differ by nothing.
- Neither can things differ by something/being, because being is their commonality.
- Therefore, things can not differ at at all: everything is eternal, changeless and one.
- Or, conclusion: screw Parmenides.
