...it just is too damn apt. But in other news of nothing much, yesterday!
The presentations were both simultaneously better and yet worse then I thought. Fantastic. Out of the four I did, the third was undoubtedly the best: lots of q/a time. Not looking forward to Monday if only because they're two problem classes, really, but that's it. It was also damned freaky to see that many old school teachers and people's younger sisters. Yeah.
Uhm. Gillman show of Jason Webely was awesome. Worked a whole damned lot: helped Forrest with membership for the first half, worked second half cash box. Very glad Stephan and I got Chinese beforehand--it kept me alive until I got home at around 330 am. Out of a crowd of about 340, I'd say more then 250 of them bought new memberships. Lots of local-ish uni students (UC Berkeley, UC Santa Cruz, UC Davis...) Second band took too damn long, got JW "officially slightly annoyed." (If you took a hour fifteen instead of forty, that's defiantly a problem when people are waiting on your arse to switch shifts, smart ones.) Very old school--saw tons of people, there was a full orchestra for the first time in at least three years, danced a bit with Isaac, Sam was annoyed at nine out of ten, followed people to someones house, followed by 16(!) of the aforementioned UC students versus 4 locals. Got a ride home, went to bed.
Got most of the Thanksgiving food shopping done today. Actually had to get a whole bird, le sigh. But other then that, it's mostly done except for things like bread and sausage and drinks. Which is cool. I do have to remember to order a small breast next year if there's going to be a small group here. Vegged out for the rest of the day with Photoshop and FFXII. Need to write tomorrow for sure and make sure the recycling goes out. But other then that? I think it's all under control. Which is a great feeling.
(PS: I totally forgot when Stephan's birthday was, so happy drinking age to him and
xelavinas.)
