Hey everyone in LJ land.
Got really drunk last night. Had three pints and five straight whiskeys. Was out with Pete and Lee and I was already in a funny mood. Hyper all day. I don't generally get hyper so the canteen must have put something in my coffee at work! Was pacing up and down at work, forgetting things then started pacing the train later on. Couldn't sit still.
I especially couldn't sit still by the end of the night. I fell over in the street, fell over as me and Pete were coming in the front door and fell over in the lounge when Pete had gone. I tried to chat up the barmaid but nothing doing - she has a boyfriend! I doubt she'd be interested in a drunken idiot like me anyway!
Good night though.
In more depressing news, my Nan's been ill lately (on my mum's side). She's already had two major strokes (one in 97 other in 03) and was in a home where she was Ok when she's being looked after (my Grandad died a couple of years ago so that's why she's in the home). But about a month ago, she started slurring her speech and stuff like that. She never had that before - the main after effects of the strokes was that her memory was completely shot and she was very frail. But we think she started having loads of mini strokes that culminated in her having about ten consecutive fits a couple of weeks ago.
They took her to hospital and she's got so much brain damage, its amazing she's still alive. They can't tell what was done in 97, what was done in 03 and what's been done with these fits so they aren't sure exactly how much damage the fits caused but it looks to be quite a bit because she can barely talk now. She can say a few words like "yes. No. Hello. Fag (she means whiskey. She stopped smoking after the first stroke)" but that's it. And now her right side is pretty much paralysed so they've put her in a nappy (she was incontinent anyway) and she can't drink without spilling it down her.
Its so sad. She totally doesn't deserve this and it must be a nightmare getting to that stage because you can sense she's still switched on upstairs as she gets frustrated when she tries to talk and move but she can't control it. The only good thing is that she's back in the home now which is a lot better than being in hospital.
Conversely, my other Nan is - with my Grandad of course - about to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks! And they've still got it as well - you can tell the love is still there. Its really nice. We're going to the theatre (the whole family I think is coming down) to see Mamma Mia so that should be good.
Work's Ok. Had some sad news a few weeks ago though. A woman who works there who - I don't like using this word - would be best described as "simple" because of her learning and social difficulties had a mental breakdown recently and had to be sectioned. At least she is getting the care she needs now though.
And my Dad's moving next week and I haven't seen the new flat yet! I'm going to make my new bedroom look more homely than this one.
So, its all been going on but personally, I'm pretty Ok. Few minor Internet problems (why did the Internet Gods allow some people to find NFans? People like Ashley Solo, 404 Not Found, Ramsay Street 4eva!!! and those ilk drive me up the wall) but other than that Ok. Although the shit might be about to hit the fan on another site I'm on.
So, last night, I was rambling, there were massive holes in logic in what I was saying, I forgot things I'd said beforehand and my stories I told Pete and Lee made little to no sense and had no direction to them.
Now I know what its like to be a Neighbours writer...
