Stepping out to fangirl
about Hellsing, of course.
OVA 8 came out a couple of days ago, and I forgot about it until yesterday! I downloaded, and happy birthday to me indeed. I stayed up until 1am to watch it and didn't calm down enough to sleep until 1:30! Reminds me of the college days! It's been 9 years since I first saw this series! Can't believe it. It still makes me excited enough not to sleep.
OVA 8 covers up to when Anderson uses The Nail and stabs Alucard in the head with a blade. This means that it has the awesome scene of Alucard the Count kneeling in front of Integral ("Okaeri hakushaku"; "tadaima hakushaku"). It also has the the Count petting Seras on her head (http://hellsing.livejournal.com/1407259.html#cutid1). That first comment is why I like Hellsing fans. Messed up sense of humor. :D :D :D

The art gets spotty, but overall, I like it!
I love art for the return of Rip and the Dandy Man. Anderson! Wallachia! :D
Then there was the credits!!! They used Yasushi Ishii!! It's the penultimate song from Hellsing Raid OST, which makes me all nostalgic. I'm going to dig it up and listen to it again. I'm so conditioned that I kept expecting "Shine" to start after the song ended.
OVA 8 also comes with The Dawn! It's a 9-minute episode with young Walter. GirlyCard hasn't made her appearance yet, but *squeeeeeeee*!!! I swear I hear Okiayu in there somewhere! I can't wait to see GirlyCard, and even more than that, the Coffin!!
Nothing quite like a Hellsing episode to make me all fangirly again. :)
