That was me and two of my coworkers today. Except it went "life sucks for a long time and then you don't get to die nearly early enough".
*sigh*
I started wards this month. I have been getting there either 6:00 or earlier, and today was the first time I left and was able to see daylight when I walked to my car. I broke 100 hours of work over the past 7 days.
I am totally in love with one of the renal attendings right now. "Love" not of the romantic "I want him" type but of the "I'm a stray cat that you fed once, so now I love you" type. He has a patient who brings him Taiwanese snacks. He's doesn't want to try them because of the whole melamine-in-Chinese-goods scare.
When I rotated on Renal, he gave them to me and I ate them. Recently, he saw the patient who again brought him snacks. He runs into me and asks me if I want them. I said yes, and two days later, he pages me, asks me where I am and delivered an entire manila envelope full of snacks to me!! I was all the way on the other side of the hospital, so I extra surprised. That day, the only lunch I got to eat was a ミニ baggy of アーモソド 小魚 for lunch.
That same night, I got out of work at 7:30. A couple of coworkers wanted to go watch a movie and I went with them. When my friend found out I hadn't eaten yet, she bought me a burrito which I ate during the trailers before the movie.
I was very grateful that people were giving me food that day.
I'll end on a chipper note and say "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!" to
ndless_mike!
