Do you ever think or feel something, but you're really not sure what it is or what it means? Jealousy? Insecurity? Curiosity? I can't tell. But whatever it is, I have decided to leave it alone.
What we as humans fail to realize at times is that other people have pasts. If you meet a guy or a girl tomorrow, you are not the first guy or girl they are meeting and/or are mildly attracted to. And vice versa, you feel me?
I know that I am a hypocritical person at times, but I believe we all are. I also understand that this is making no sense to anybody reading, but if you want to know what in the hell I am talking about, just ask. It's just not something I want posted all over the internet.
It's funny. My past comes back to haunt me at LEAST once a month. Glenn calls. Glenn being my first love. The one man who will always have a piece of my heart. The man who even after being split up with for over 2 years, I still love. Anytime I talk to him, he wants to act as if nothing has changed and that we are still the same happy couple we used to be. He still tells me he loves me. I do the same. It's a different kind of love these days though. Anyway, I don't want to get started on him...
My point is that sometimes you just have to let things go. At some point, we all have to deal with our past. We needn't let the past INTERFERE, but we do have to deal with it. And we definitely don't need our loved ones' consent at all times.
Let it go, Erin. Take your own advice for once and just, please, let it go.
By the way, I must state once again that I have the most beautiful, amazing relationship with the most wonderful and generous MAN. <3
