I hate car shopping

Gawd I hate car shopping more than anything in the world. I have decided that I can no longer tolerate my tiny car that cannot hold a bike, or easily fit my track chair without fighting with it. So I have begun the search- Pontiac Vibe, Toyota Matrix, Scion, whatever is affordable, good on gas and big enough to haul crap. Thats pretty much all I need. I had been primarily looking at Vibe's because they are cheap.

I decided to expand my horizons today and go and test drive a
Toyota Matrix instead of a Pontiac Vibe- although $3,000 more expensive on
average.

So I go and sit down with the guy. He asks what other cars I am
looking at and he tells me how if I were to get a Vibe, I should get
an extended warranty because its out of production and parts will be
really hard to find and really expensive. Okay. Fine. And I should
just test drive the Matrix instead. Okay. Fine.

I get in the car...its IDENTICAL. Same exact dashboard, same
upholstery, same mirror adjustment controls, same exact power outlet
adapters, same tie downs in the trunk. Same car. So I ask him- this
looks awfully similar.

"What are the differences?"
"There really arnt any, they are the same car"
"So why should I buy this one"
"Well, you will have Toyota's reliability" ( I didnt laugh or make a
joke about the brakes)
"So the engine is different? Or the internal components, drivetrain,
something that makes it 'more reliable'?"
"Nope. Same car. But really, the Toyota name stands for good products"

So FYI...If you want a new and trendy Toyota logo on your car instead
of a Pontiac one, it costs you an extra 3k. I didnt ask him about
those 'hard to find and really expensive' parts.

Not sure who was dumber- this guy for being honest or the guy who
tried to sell me a 2009 vehicle without power windows, because
apparently they are NOT actually in every car these days.

I hate car shopping.
shopping.
