What can I say, I fell off the face of the LJ world for awhile. I admit it.
My life was a bit of a roller coaster these last few months and I decided to spare everyone the posts that would amount to nothing more than freaking out-frequently. I moved to Alabama and into an apartment that was broken, flooding, and a continual headache. My job, you know, the one I took without knowing what the hell it was...was a mind numbingly boring mistake.
BUT...life has a funny way of working out. I was offered the chance to interview for the Recreation Specialist position that was the one I really wanted in the first place. And although I went through a rather hellish inhouse interview process that even included smiling nicely and having lunch with the other candidates who were competing for the job I wanted, I (shockingly) got the job. I am still doing some Dartfish stuff with USA Quad Rugby, USA Basketball and the USA Women's Goalball team, but I get to spend the majority of my days playing, planning for playing, and then playing some more. This week is our youth Spring Break camp...controlled chaos at its finest. They actually pay me to help kids play sports, ride handcycles, go rock climbing and play around with fun things like floor scooters and parachutes. Its a pretty sweet deal.
I still have a rather boring life really outside of work and dont know a single person in the entire state that is not related back to Lakeshore, but hopefully that will come. Anyone know any fun people in Alabama?
