Well, I made a new friend yesterday.
Not at school.
Not at work.
Not online, either.
not really in a public place.
I met a homeless man walking with a dog. We were talking and stuff. He seemed pretty interesting. I was about to head home, but I decided to go all the way back with him to Red Cross and help him bring food back to his bridge area.
It was like 1 in the morning when we got to his bridge. We had to walk a bit of a way, and would have been a bitch to carry back all by himself. It's pretty interesting how it's set up. There's a scaffolding that forms a bridge to the back, and I've never seen anything like it before. His setup was neatly put together. It was like a cubicle/tent. I hung out with him and his fiancee for a little while. He had found a pair of rollerblades and skated me back to Carson Street and thanked me for helping him bring food back to his camp. He has two dogs. One is them is bigger than I am, and I was extremely comfortable.
It was really relaxing just to hang out with them. It made me realize the things they appreciated and what people who aren't homeless aren't so appreciative. All the homeless have is their life, and they struggle each day to keep that.
And I also thought he was lucky to have someone who extremely cared about him so he wouldn't feel alone. He said,"It's great, but for her, she chose to be with me. She can do so much better. She chose to live under the bridge with me, and she didn't have to."
He was homeless for about 4 months now; where he was staying burnt down.
I definitely want to go visit them again. It's like going to someone's house, except, it's not a house.
It makes me realize how real life really is and makes me forget about frivolous things for a moment. It makes me wonder about the most important things. It makes me wonder about my position in love and confidence.
Anywaaaaay...THE END OF THE QUARTER'S HERE!!!!! WOOOO!!!!!
Well, almost. Now I can eat pudding for the rest of the year and get really fat!
