Happy Soul Asylum Day!!
For the first time since 1998, I have a new Soul Asylum album in my hands. It is quite an amazing feeling, as I never thought I would get another album of new material. The album, "The Silver Lining", comes a year after the death of Karl, their bassist.
The album is good, I would say 3.5/5. Some songs are great, some are filler, but overall, I am just happy to have it. It is MUCH better than their last album, from 1998, and I would say its probably their 4th or fifth best overall.
I am hoping it catches on, and sells a few hundred thousand copies, but given the current state of music, that is quite a stretch for a band who hasnt had a charting single in 11 years.
