an actual update

I don't even know HOW I'm feeling as of late.

See, things were going REALLY REALLY well for awhile. Like really well. Classes were awesome (still are) and I have a handle on everything--my thesis, my homework, life in general. My social life is great and I love having a lot of friends to go out with. In general, I'm really really happy.

Except for the fact I'm lonely. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not (and have never) been one of those girls that NEEDS to have a boyfriend. I'm independent and strong and I don't need a man to justify my existence. I know I'm great. I know myself well enough to be able to share my life with someone else. I think I'm ready. Unfortunately Ashland isn't exactly the place for me to find "Mr. Right". I just want someone to make me laugh, to assure me that my life is going in the right direction and maybe distract me once in awhile from my work. Is that too much to ask? Apparently it is. I said I wanted to have fun my senior year--and I am. I said I didn't want a commitment. But I think maybe I was lying...

Anyway, in other news, I am still running (or co-running) the College Republicans. That's ok. I love it. Even though I may not be the poster child for the conservative movement, I still can appreciate being a CR. I'm insanely busy with clubs and activities, but I wouldn't have it any other way. And I'm going out more and meeting more people. It's a shame its taken me three years to do this.

Also, I'm going to see the love of my life, Grady Sizemore tonight. Yay for Grady (right Samantha!) He is the only man in my life (other than my dad) that doesn't continually disappoint me. Kathryn, Kenzie and I are leaving a few hours (after macro and lab) and it should be a good time.

Classes this semester are as follows:
Development of Economic thought with Rogers. Amazing. Kat, Alex and I screw around all class and get Dr. Rogers to talk about random shit. And believe it or not, I'm actually doing the reading and learning. It's odd how after three years of Rogers classes you finally begin to understand him.

Intermediate MacroEconomics with Russell. I love this class. Dr. Russell is great and I really like how he uses applications for us to understand. Even though I have a tendency to think microly, I like the Macro better. For those that have studied economics, you know what i mean.

International Economics with Garcia. I love Dr. Garcia. He makes me laugh. It might just be the fact that he's Hispanic though. In any case, I need to get on top of the reading, but it's not so bad. I'm writing my paper about NAFTA and free trade. it shall be glorious.

Biology with Posner. Ehh. Not that bad. I'd rather not take biology, but if i have to, I'm glad its with him.

World War II with Moser. This is like a favorite pair of jeans. You know what to expect. You know what the prof is like. It's safe. Though I'm not wild about the topic, it could be a lot worse.

So that's it. I'm running late for Macro, but I'll try and post more tomorrow. Probably a long and detailed baseball rant. :)
