Gardening

We've gone from a humidex of 107F (42C) mid week to cold, damp, grey and rainy. If nothing else this year has taught me, once again, the ephemeral nature of gardening and it's beauty. Here today, gone tomorrow.

copperlee took me out yesterday, in the pouring rain, so I could buy plants for my hanging baskets. I do three huge wire ones across the front ( Read more... )

wow. that's an impressive figure of humidity there.

*quibbles a bit* should I be terribly afraid of coming through Toronto in August then? Every time I tell someone that I'll be spending 2 weeks in eastern Canada (mostly Quebec) in August, they're "it's hot in August."

Yeah it is, especially so early in the year. Then again, the furnace almost kicked in last night, so, there's really no telling.

Traditionally August is dreadful in southern Ontario. Montreal too. Other areas of Quebec and Ontario not so much. Mind you last week the heat, pollution and humidex warning went all the way up to top of Hudson's Bay which, again is pretty much unheard of. There's just no telling anymore.

The long range forecast for next weekend is way below normal. *shrugs*

All you can do is watch and wait. ;-)

OH WELL I DON'T MIND! In fact, I'm rather looking forward to it. This year will be the Year of Extremes for me!! -31C to +40 with humidity!!

woot!

(FYI, I'll be coming through Toronto at the end of July/beginning of August - want to catch up!??!?!?! and then about 2 weeks later as I head out towards Ireland)

That's Canada for you, all about extremes. *bg*

Definitely. Give me a shout when you're coming through this way. I'm surprised your not going to Toronto Trek though, what gives?

Oooh, Ireland? How cool is that.

We're probably heading back to Europe this fall though I'm not sure where yet.

I take it you found it all on your own.

A whole slew of folks from SG slashdom work and attend it each year.

*sigh*

but it tis a full 3 weeks before I was aiming to be in Toronto. What a blooming shame. If I come into some money between now and then I'll come ;)

of course, it's also the opening week of the Calgary Stampede, which I am SO GOING TO and have already reserved a room for :D well, a bed...

Are you going?

Tis a shame. You'd meet a lot of the smutchatters there. *beg*

I'm still not sure whether I'll be able to make it at all or not. I'm going away for a week mid June and I've got the European trip this fall. I'd like to try and make it for Sunday, but I'm going to have to wait and see how life and finances go between now and then.
