These Jeans are Tattered and Torn

I have been reading a lot of Henry David Thoreau as of late as a means of enrichment.

A 2,175 mile journey lay ahead of me, and the more I start to enlighten my mind now the more I have to push myself the next mile. how can one be whole in body without the mind to keep it a temple or purposeful to a cause? We learn the most of ourselves by indulging in simplicity and strife. We grow by learning from our weakest and most humiliating moments, only then do we dig deeper into ourselves. I have learned these lessons not so much from Thoreau but rather my own dealings with a Brain injury.
Thoreau made an interesting correlation that we don't usually think about but so true it is. I will Para-phrase since I am having difficulty locating the exact verse, but if you care to read its in Walden- Ch.1 Economy.

"Man would much rather hobble back home on a broken Leg than to, be seen with a tear in his pantaloons. A leg can be mended, but once a pantaloon is torn there is no mending to redeem ones clothing. Man values what others deem as respectable, not what is respected. each generation laughs at the previous generations fashion and only adheres to the current."

My Jeans are worn, torn, and tattered, the cuffs are separating from the seems. These Jeans are my favorite Jeans they are comfortable relaxed. My Jeans a deemed by others as not respectable and beyond usage as if giving my exterior a lack of interest to venture into knowing my interior,my thoughts and motives. but one who doesn't resolve to such petty thoughts is one whom discovers and lavishes riches beyond wealth.
No matter how man tries to separate himself from the mainstream, the social acceptance is what drives a renewal to a clique. even in deemed urban outcast such as goths and punks etc. the importance to fashion tho different is still there, I mean this as only purely observational not as insult to friends. I have noticed that at one point or another even those whom try to separate themselves is at onetime or another trendy to some future or past generation.
