[The morning sun is rising on the horizon and Buffy Summers is snatching an hour or two for herself between the night and day patrols. With the return of daylight, she plans her own return to the cave systems. After all, Drusilla will have to hide herself from the sunlight and so a continued search of the exterior world would be supremely fruitless. Being unable to find Fred and Wesley continues to take both an emotional and a physical toll on the Slayer. Losing is never an option, and so she had insisted on continuing the search no matter how long it took
She doesn't stop--except, with the dwindling of night into day, she allows herself a dose of warmth and sanity. Without fail, dawn brings Buffy to the steps of Community Building One. Today she has things filling her arms: the key ingredients of a luscious pancake breakfast stress-buster. She sets up camp in the kitchen area on the first floor, lazily mixing the batter in her own invisible fortress of solitude.
Those who live in the building might come across the rudimentary culinary Slayer. Others might smell the first batch as it is accidentally burned to a crisp on the pan. Anyone awake and paying attention to the journals might her her curse quietly and hiss when she burns the pad of her thumb in an attempt to rescue the charred pancakes.
