[Homura sees the entry before he runs into the woman who makes it, which prompts him to approach Buffy with a level of sympathy he might not have shown otherwise when he finally does find her.]

Buffy Summers. [Homura smiles faintly after calling out.] We spoke earlier, over the journals.

[ she has managed to grasp a level of self-control that might suggest she is used to this kind of thing. her expression is a bit shaky but she is doing her best not to let it impede upon this meeting. ]

[Homura can read that expression easily enough. He appreciates the effort she's going through, and although he's eager to learn what he can, he's not so insensitive as to ignore her predicament.]

I did see your announcement. If you would prefer to wait, there is time before we're to report in.

No. [ she shakes her head. she is not ungrateful, but this is hardly the worst circumstance she has had to conduct business under. ] Thanks for the concern, but I'm okay. I can't believe I'm actually saying this given what home's like but...that guy? He's safer there. I gotta stick to the bright side.

Xander! [A pause.] I just spoke with him the other day.

That's how it works. I once stepped out of a room for about a half hour and when I got back, someone was gone.

[No one ever knows what to say in these situations, and Archie's no different. An awkward, useless apology is all he can offer. That and company, although Buffy probably has that covered.]

[ Willow sees the message, but doesn't answer it. Her tears come hard and fast in her bedroom for a while. Once she can stem the flow, she'll seek out Buffy, wherever her best friend is. She figures they'll both need a hug. ]

[ she arrives back home later in the evening, looking for willow. ]

[ she looks disheveled. she has been getting her agonies out in the battle dome. but at the sound of willow's voice she is quick to drop her things and reach out for the redhead. ]
