Killing sprees, huh? That's so last season.

[Buffy sighs, and the journal picks up the gentle clinking of glasses.] Well, I'm a bit more used to--y'know--beating up bartenders for info but now that I am one? Hmm. If anyone's got some juicy knowledge on the murders, swing by Good Spirits and give a girl a hand with her investigating, okay?

[Hi there, Minato. Buffy gets that look that she tends to get around you. The awkward hi-I-saw-you-in-the-clinic look.]

Can I interest you in some orange juice with a splash of soda? Totally underage-friendly. I promise.

[slaying]

Don't worry. It's pretty good--I'm not to big on the booze myself, so I know my delicious substitutes. [At least she knows that much.

The Slayer turns away for a moment, shaking up some orange juice and adding a dash of sparkling lemon soda. She garnishes with a slice of orange and quirky straw and--there you go! She slides the tall glass over to Minato. It's not the manliest looking thing, but it'll be delicious. She hopes.]

This? Nah. That's just...God, I don't know what to call it. I'm not sure I could take the booze out of a McCoy.

I want to know why Kadaj and his brother did this.

[She states it clearly, not pulling any verbal punches.]

And, what? This is some kind of creepy catharsis?

Crazy's a good word for them. Or, at least, for Kadaj. I don't know much about the other one. Except that he's uber-protective.

O-oh, you knew one of the victims. [Buffy stammers, her brusque attitude breaking easily.] I'm sorry.

Those brothers got away with a lot--I mean, what can we do to them? Kill them back? Well, they'll return too. And this place doesn't seem to lend itself well to jails.
