[It's early morning and Buffy is out on some kind of a mission. After all, that tell-tale battle axe is near effortlessly hefted over her shoulder and she has determination on her face. But today is not a day for battle or bloodshed or any of those other squishy and uncomfy words beginning with B. No, today is about something else entirely ( Read more... )

[Hey, it's an even newer newbie to house 7.]

What's that for?

[Oh hey, Uhura. Buffy looks up from the journal with a quick smile.]

Christmas, of course. Waiting to see if Bones and Spock and Emony are okay with it.

Pine needles, all over the floor? What if someone's allergic?

[She smiles a little.]

A Christmas tree allergy? Talk about the short end of the stick. Worst allergy ever.

The likelihood that Bones is allergic...?

Too bad there's no electricity. Candles would just be a major fire hazard.

Exactly. Me? I plan on avoiding any and all hazards, fireish or otherwise. At least for as long as possible.

[She looks thoughtful for a moment.]

You know, I haven't been here very long at all, but from what I've seen, if there's anything a lot of us have in common it's that we're all bad at avoiding hazards. Some of the people I've met seem very hazardous all on their own.

But somehow, I doubt that's why we were all grabbed and shoved into this...place.

[She's even quicker to smile now, but also on pretty rocky footing. It's a little weird, talking about him to one of his crew members.] He's...a lot of things.

Hs is. It's strange, though, I never expected him to settle down, so to speak. I guess we've all changed a lot, lately, though.

[A snort of a laugh.] I'm not sure that this, whatever it is, counts as settling down.

Maybe not the right term for it, no.

Still, he's now got a live-in girlfriend. This is a new and exciting chapter in the life of James Kirk.

[In spite of it all, she chuckles.]

Ditto for the life of Buffy Summers, who's never even ever been a live-in girlfriend. We're both flying blind, here.
