The Fortunes of Indigo Skye by Deb Caletti

Indigo loves being a waitress. When she watches the customers at Carrera's eat and interact, she feels as though she is the conductor of a orchestra, making sure that every instrument is in tune - that every customer is happy. She knows when her regulars (fondly referred to as "The Irregulars") will come in, what they will order and what they will ( Read more... )

I can't wait till April to read it. I have read "The Nature of Jade" & "Wild Roses"- they both ROCKED. I loved it because they're all just so quotastic, I want to frame the sentences on my wall. Plus, her characters are LIKE NO OTHER, so I'm looking forward to meeting Indigo and the others...

Great review, thanks!! =]

I agree about the quotability and goodness of her books.

I just read this and utterly adored it - possibly my favourite of Caletti's novels so far, thank you for recommending them!

I finally got around to reading The Fortunes of Indigo Skye, but I think I was a little disappointed. I liked Indigo, but the story was just a little too unbelievable. With The Queen of Everything, or with Wild Roses, everything was situational. With Fortunes, I couldn't really believe that Indigo would let the money get to her head. Personally, I was interested in hearing more about Vespa guy.

I think my disappointment in this book is because The Nature of Jade was just totally and completely one of the best YA books I've ever read.

Sometimes, it's hard to judge a book on its own merit when the author has written something else you really enjoyed - almost as if you might like that book more if you weren't aware of the byline - because you can't help but compare this new story to the previous release! :)

I too loved The Nature of Jade.
