Poetry Friday: King of Griefs by Sara Lewis Holmes

Jul 13, 2007 06:29

He's the King
in riot gear,
a mob surrounds the throne --
You're mine -- and you --
and you -- you're mine -- he tells his fears,
but still they moan,
knowing he is armed
with only poetry
and tears --
-- King of Griefs from the novel Letters From Rapunzel by Sara Lewis HolmesThis poem has been posted with permission from the author. Thank you, Sara ( Read more... )

I love love LOVED the poetry aspect to this novel, and when I read it, I even considered reviewing it on a Poetry Friday. But I didn't, though in my review (http://blaine.org/sevenimpossiblethings/?p=598), I talked a bit about all the poetry-talk in it.

Great Poetry Friday entry!

Have a good weekend, Little Willow . . .

I also love the stories within - her take on various fairy tales.

You enjoy the weekend as well!
